Objects in my livingroom

Once in a while, when I am delightfully "altered" and playing my favorite pieces of music, I like to take photos of various interesting and/or trippy objects in my "Gay Trailer Trash on Acid" livingroom work-in-progress art project. Enjoy! John

Boycott Israel

I am sickened and enraged but NOT surprised to wake up before sunrise today to see that Israel attacked the Gaza aid flotilla in INTERNATIONAL waters and killed 10 peace activists. Of course the US will do nothing of substance and the Zionist monsters will still get their weapons systems and three billion annually from "us". And of course if Iran did this we'd see Obama and Clinton condemning them on the world stage and threatening a massive embargo, etc. As regards Israel, so far I am seeing VERY little of the "change" I voted for. For years I supported Israel, thinking it was a safe homeland for Jews. But expansionist, racist, Zionist Israel is the greatest danger to world peace, and keeps exploring the depths of inhumanity while disregarding the Geneva Conventions, the UN, the NPT, and the terms of the agreement that led to Israel's creation. They fully deserve the loathing they are viewed with around the world. And at LAST, people around the world, even in AIPAC-controlled America, are realizing the fallacy of Israel's carefully cultivated perennial blame game of insisting that opposing their cruel inhumane criminal actions is "anti-Semitism".

Today I will FINALLY Google for a "Boycott Israel" bumper sticker.

news about my Mom

My mother, Susanne Starnes, died yesterday, Friday, May 28 at 4:20 PM, at 'Hospice by the Sea' in Boca Raton Fl. She will be cremated at Bass funeral home in Okeechobee, date unknown as of now. She died from end stage COPD, cancer of the lungs and renal failure. Mom was 79, had been a smoker until just a few years ago, and had been ill at home a long time with the COPD and unmanaged diabetes, with Dad cooking and caring for her. I was impressed by the hospice staff and feel that she died peacefully and pain free. I think she knew that my Dad and my brother Kevin and I were there as she moved her badly swollen arms a few times when we spoke to her. She had been on a respirator for almost three months. I hope that her lifelong hurting, and often hurtful, soul has at last found some peace. They were married for 57 years.
I am very thankful to my friend Lee Sherman, a noted rosarian in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for her priceless sharings and gems of advice about the hospice process, which empowered me with real world facts as I dealt with hospitals and hospices on Dad's behalf. Lee lost her colorful husband Joel on New Year's Day this year after 47 years of marriage. He had been very ill for a decade, and she too selflessly cared for him all those years.

If you'd like to send my Dad a card here is his address:

Remarkable Photos of Mars site

Check this site out now and then for updates and often breathtaking high-resolution photos of Mars taken from orbit. Just THINK what America could have achieved in space travel with that one TRILLION dollars spent trying to turn Iraq into a client state! We could have ready to fly a successor to the Shuttle vs. TOTAL reliance on the Russian space agency for manned space travel once the aging Shuttles are retired. Enjoy, John

A music video worth sharing again

I'd never heard of this likeable, eccentric, creative musical group, but they remind me of the B-52s. And like the B-52s they appreciate Yoko's raw quirky energy. This video is from last year....I love the song and seeing Yoko being true to herself and focused and energetic and brave at 76 while being embraced by so many young people these last several years. (she just had her fifth No.1 Dance Club hit recently...'Give Me Something'.) I realize that she is no Olivia Newton-John or Bette Midler, but since 1970 I have admired and been inspired by her being so fully singular in so many ways. Great toe-tapping song...enjoy! John

an original 'Penny Lane' video.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H6PdlJshCo&feature=related

studio video of The Beatles performing 'Paperback Writer'

I think I was 15 when this album came out and this song, plus 'Rain', made clear to me that they were evolving into a whole new realm. 'Tomorrow Never Knows" on their next album tripped me out BIG time, even though I was still 2 years away from trying cannabis.....I just connected immediately to the trippy expansive energy. To this day my favorite song, period, is 'I Am The Walrus'. Nice that they recorded this iconic song using their original simple format of three guitars and one drum set. John

Two short powerful videos about nukes in the Middle East....

....yet the military-industrial-economic-media machine daily demonizes Iran, who has attacked no country in four centuries and is a full signatory to the NPT and has submitted to even the surprise "Additional Protocol" inspections by the IAEA, who found NO violations or diversions of ANY atomic or nuclear material. The US signed the NPT years ago, did not ratify it, refuses ANY inspections by the IAEA it demands of other nations like Iran, and Israel will not sign the NPT. But, like Iraq, Iran sits atop VAST quantities of oil, hence the US sponsored 1953 coup that overturned a democracy and installed the Shah. Let's see....demonize an NPT signatory in compliance with severe mandates demanded by Britain and the U.S. that has attacked no one in four hundred years while neither Israel or the U.S. can go for four YEARS without pre-emptively attacking a nation and killing vast numbers of civilians, like the 1.3 MILLION lost in Iraq to the Bush regime's deceptions and war crimes. Despite its defiance of dozens of UN resolutions against it, and stark defiance of the tenets of decency in the Geneva Conventions, including the perennial inhumane treatment of the Palestinians in their own ancestral lands, Israel gets a guaranteed US veto in the UN, three billion annually in cash, plus massive military aid.

Yet some wonder why America is no longer trusted and admired, but instead, feared. John

Like The Beatles said in "Revolution", "don't you know you can count me out".

What a Legacy that the Cheney/Bush regime left us...

"One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge -- even to ourselves -- that we've been so credulous." Carl Sagan

Vulcanism on Mars?!!

I think this photo is amazing since it has long been felt that Mars, just 1/3 the size of Earth, has for a very long time had a cold, inactive planetary core. I love the photos that this satellite is taking! John

Cool new Hyundai economy car

I have loved sleek, futuristic, aerodynamic car styling since I was 10, and so not only like the new Hyundai Sonata, but am surprised and delighted that their 2011 Elantra, an economy car no less, exudes a sleek gracefulness, especially in its nicely sculpted front end. Here is a link to a gallery of clickable pics taken at its unveiling. Enjoy, John

Sweety

My wonderful sweet old dog Sweety is now in the hospital with kidney failure after a very rough month of an arthritis flare up and an even worse spell with the hip dysplasia she had even as a puppy in Denver. With tears in her eyes the vet told me there is maybe a 25%-30% chance that Sweety will pull through. But I will not prolong her suffering needlessly as she is 13. I considered briefly putting her down today to end her suffering, but figured it was worth $615 to try a three day hospital stay. Iodine supplementation has done WONDERS for her quality of life the last 2 years by curing the hypothyroidism another vet somehow overlooked, with her skin and coat issues, lethargy, lipomas, incontinence and back legs failure completely reversed in just a couple of months. I hope I am doing right by her. I will keep you folks posted. Here is a pic of her 10 years ago. She truly IS a sweety, gentle with kids, other pets, even baby chicks. John

'I Am the Walrus' by Jim Carrey and George Martin, The Beatles' manager....awesome AND funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MoWQSe3txY
I hope I live to see those evil bastards pay....and I want the TRUTH about 9-11 to come out....I am delighted that an organization of 1,100 top architects world wide wrote Congress demanding a new 9-11 investigation due to THREE steel framed buildings dropping into their own footprints ON THE SAME DAY when NONE have ever done this before....and Building 7 was not even hit by planes and had a few small fires, and with nano-thermite (vs. regular thermite which itself would be damning enough!) found in EVERY dust sample taken ON 9-11 and a week later. I have felt from the beginning that 9-11 was an inside "false flag" job by the NeoCons, just as the "Gulf of Tonkin Incident" used to GREATLY expand the Vietnam war was both staged and fabricated...this is fact....Google it. Back then people who said that were considered "conspiracy theory whackos". Yet Bush and Cheney and the rest of those criminals get pensions EXPENSIVE Secret Service protection, and free medical care paid for by the very Americans they deceived and shafted and killed, with 1.3 MILLION Iraqi civilians now dead due to their bogus war. I already knew about the nano-thermite findings so this is VERY encouraging that those monsters WILL see justice! I've subscribed and hope that MILLIONS of Americans join us. John

Sad and Sobering.....

http://www.costofwar.com/
"Four sorrows ... are certain to be visited on the United States. Their cumulative effect guarantees that the U.S. will cease to resemble the country outlined in the Constitution of 1787.

First, there will be a state of perpetual war, leading to more terrorism against Americans wherever they may be and a spreading reliance on nuclear weapons among smaller nations as they try to ward off the imperial juggernaut.

Second is a loss of democracy and Constitutional rights as the presidency eclipses Congress and is itself transformed from a co-equal 'executive branch' of government into a military junta.

Third is the replacement of truth by propaganda, disinformation, and the glorification of war, power, and the military legions.

Lastly, there is bankruptcy, as the United States pours its economic resources into ever more grandiose military projects and shortchanges the education, health, and safety of its citizens.":
